Top tips for creating a salt bath at home

  • As tempting as it may be to have a hot bath, your salt bath should in fact be warm, ideally body temperature (37 degrees Celsius).
  • 20-30 minutes bathing time is more than enough to reap the benefits of a salt bath.
  • You don’t need to shower afterwards, simply dry off with a towel.
  • It is important that you REST for at least 30 minutes after your salt bath.
We would recommend that you do a patch test before trying any of the above if you suffer from sensitive skin. If you are pregnant or on medication, always consult your doctor before trying any of the above remedies.
Whilst we recognise the benefits of having a bath in salt water, they can be demanding on your circulatory system. It is recommended that those who suffer from weak or poor heart circulation should consult their doctor beforehand. We would always ask that you also seek medical advice before soaking in a salt bath if you’re diabetic, suffer from blood pressure, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, adrenal exhaustion, nervous system deficiencies or any serious illness.
