This is the time of year when resolutions are everywhere. Just under 40% of us make a resolution (with health topping the list) but out of that, only two thirds manage to keep it going for a month! Gym memberships soar, diet plans go through the roof and behavioural changes are flavour of the month’ but it doesn’t last! That’s why we, here at soapNskin, like to keep it real.
We would like you to make a simple switch to better skin and diet but one small step at a time. Your skin is your largest organ. Stretched out, on average, it is about 2 meters long. It protects by acting as a barrier to the many pollutants around us. The condition of your skin is a pretty good picture of your overall health. Here’s a quick guide to some positive changes you could start with in your skincare regime.
- Have a regime, FULL STOP! It is vital to carry out the basics-cleanse tone and moisturise. This removes impurities, tones the skin by closing pores and re hydrates through moisture.
- Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated and to encourage cell renewal. Our cells are made up primarily of water and in order to keep these cells in optimal condition they need to be kept hydrated! Water on the inside means moisture on the outside!
- The top layer of our skin contains mainly dead cells which need to be removed. It is therefore a good idea to exfoliate regularly also. It will reveal softer, healthier skin that glows!
- Sun damage is one of the biggest threats to our skin. Keep sunscreen handy all year round-even in winter!
We’ve kept it simple for you and hope that you will make these changes. By following this simple routine you are preparing your skin for later life when your skin becomes more prone to changes such as wrinkles, pigmentation and dryness. We guarantee you will see positive results-give it a go and let us know how you feel!
